cloud assessment tool rocket release 18

Txture release 18 is out! For this version, we have tuned our Cloud Transformation Platform in different areas to expand our offer and to increase performance and usability. We particularly worked on the following functional areas:

Revision of the Assessment section

We completely reorganized the Assessment section in the Transformation Cockpit and added new features. The Assessment section is used to check the Cloud Readiness of applications and to decide how and when an application should be migrated with the 6 R’s cloud migration approach. Based on Txture’s recommendations with regards to the 6 R’s Migration Strategy and Migration Timing, you can now make your own decision and comment on the reasoning for the decision!

Target Architecture Landscape

Starting with Txture version 18, it is possible to analyze the entire Target Architecture Landscape and simulate what it would look like after the transformation. To do so, switch to the dedicated "Target Architecture Landscape" scenario in the time machine. While the Transformation Cockpit is locked in this scenario, all other reporting features, and the repository are available in their full functionality. Every time a Target Architecture Cloud Proposal is selected in the AS-IS scenario, the Target Architecture Landscape will be updated accordingly. The overview of the Cloud Target Architecture Landscape is important for:

  • Getting an overview of the application landscape across application boundaries
  • Calculating the TCO of the cloud target architecture
  • Getting an overview of the distribution of cloud service technologies with different providers

In addition, we have enhanced a number of other areas

  • We enhanced the print-layout of the Cloud Migration Assessment results in the Transformation Cockpit.
  • We improved our management area for cloud readiness surveys and made inviting new users more comfortable. Also, we made surveys more stable for a very high number of users. It easily works with several thousand application owners being surveyed now.
  • We improved the ability to compare different Cloud Target Architecture Proposals in the Transformation Cockpit.

  • We improved the import mechanisms for MS Excel. Now it is possible to generate Excel files in Txture based on your structure model and use these Excel files for the application data discovery. These spreadsheets can be imported automatically.
  • We expanded our set of cloud assessment rules based on our and our partners’ project experience over the last months.
  • We enhanced some of our reports and made it more comfortable to share reports with external stakeholders.

Have we sparked your interest in exploring the new version in a hands-on demo? Feel free to request a free demo or contact us for more information!
